I'm a vet, I'm a vet, I'm a VETERINARIAN

Okay, so last night, Little Chloe wasn't being herself at all! She turned her nose up at her dinner which she usually wolfs down, she just lay in her bed in the corner of the kitchen, no wagging tail nothing!!!!!

So I go and pick her up and the underside of her chin is totally swollen. So I pick her up and rush her to the Vet (x3) and they were all closed!

So I take her home and decide to investigate myself! Lay her down on her blanket on her back and it looks like a bite of some sorts! So my blood starts boiling because I thought that one of the rabbits bit her. Then on closer inspection, I see that it's a sting!!!!

SO - I don some surgical gloves (please ask me why I have a box of surgical gloves in my house LOL), sterilise the instruments (a tweezers), and prepare the operating table!!!!!!

I managed to get the tip of the sting out, but then saw a little white bit still stuck there, so I went in again and VOILA - I got it out!!!!!! It was a TIIIIIINNNNNYYYY little bugger, but caused my baby so much pain!!! I cleaned it up with some Savlon and put on a bit of antiseptic cream, and 1, 2, 3, my Chloe was right as rain!! First thing she wanted was water, then her dinner, then she was running around, chewing on anything that would stand still - back to her old self!!!

Ok, so probably the grossest news this week belongs to Keith Richards. The Rolling Stones guitarist has admitted to snorting his dad's ashes.

Eeeuuwww! Richards told music magazine NME that he had once snorted his late father's remains along with drugs. "The strangest thing I've tried to snort? My father. I snorted my father. He was cremated and I couldn't resist grinding him up with a little bit of blow... It went down pretty well, and I'm still alive."
You're alive? Really? You could've fooled me...

His publicist came out with industrial duty mops in an attempt to mop up Keith's mess and said that he was only joking. She had no further comment about why Richards made the statement. Ok ja, good excuse, why didn't I think of that one?

.............and more bitching!!!!

Okay, so I had a car accident on 25 January this year! An old fogie reversed into my passenger front door with his tow bar - so of course he didn't have a scratch on his car - mine is all crunched in and the paint chipped everything!!!!! So, he lodges a claim with his insurance company "Hamford" since I did not want to go through my insurance company!!!!

Get a load of this - they still use MANUAL claim forms - like hello - are we living in the age of the caveman??????? To top it off - their staff are bloody RUDE and INCOMPETANT as you'd expect from a company who still uses manual claim forms!!!!!!

In addition to my frustration - I had to drive around and get 2 quotes from 2 different panelbeaters!!!!!! And FYI - both those quotes have now expired!!!!!!

As a result - it is the 10th of April and my claim has YET to be finalised!!!

Thank you Hamford and thank you to that useless little freak that crunched my car - I REALLY enjoy driving around with a lovely crunched in door that cannot open!!!!!!!!!

The Hilton - Sandton

On Easter Sunday, we set out to the Hilton in Sandton to have lunch. We had received about 13 calls from Hilton marketing to confirm that we had paid the R150 per head for the lunch. We were also late for lunch and I was panicking that we wouldn't get a table - afterall, they had a host of activities for the kids including an Easter Egg hunt and a jumping castle!!

Ok, so we arrive at about 1:17 (I drove LOL) and we walk into the restaurant and could literally count the number of people there on one hand!!!!!!

So we sit down and there are the cutest bunny easter eggs at each place setting and we go off to the buffet where everything looked divine!!! oh but hell no - the crab salad tasted like, and I quote "chewed cardboard" as per my sister, the roast leg of lamb was boiled prior to being "ROASTED", the "chocolate mousse" was actually Moirs instant pudding......EEEEEUUUUWWW it was gross!!!!!!!

Anyway, Maddy had a ball on the hunt and jumped herself into a coma on the jumping castle!!!

SO - we have sponsored Paris with a new little outfit for her little dog - YAY us!

Well hello fellow bloggers.........Cheeky Mermaid here.......been dying to do this for a while and finally had a mo to do so!!!

As mentioned in my profile - I'm a 29 year old "law" person, born and bred in Johannesburg. I have a 5 year old daughter who is the apple of my eye........

She is a real little madam, knows exactly what she wants and when she wants it! Is SERIOUSLY into the Bratz at the moment and wants everything that is The Bratz - including a little pearl white vintage Mercedes Benz remote controlled car!!!! Oh she is spoilt - make no mistake - mostly by her Gran and doting aunt! Okay okay.........yes by me too, but they are like totally out of control!! hee hee

As you can see - she takes after Mom, does everything Mom does, including having french manicures..........................

...................maybe I should be calling this site after "Bird" my nickname for my daughter and not after myself.......Cheeky Mermaid LOL - I can see where this is heading!
